Autumn, Winter, Spring Activity Holiday Dates - This itinerary runs from the last Saturday in September, until the last Friday in May.
Outside of these dates see summer activity holidays in Spain.


Activity Holiday Detailed Itinerary:

Saturday - We meet you at Malaga Airport (see transfer times) and transfer you to your accommodation, where we will run through your fully detailed welcome folder with all the local maps and guides you need to get the most from your stay.

Saturday  Evening - Join our beach side welcome meeting in a chiringuito overlooking the glittering blue sea and enjoy a refreshing drink & tapa while we run through your weeks itinerary and give a swift overview of the town and surrounding area.  After answering any questions you may have we head off for your fully inclusive welcome evening meal & drinks in a typical Andalucian restaurant.


Sunday - Choose from:
Cycling Less experienced riders can cruise down our super guided country side and coast mountain bike routes exploring the neighbouring tropical fruit fields, as well as most of the local beaches and paseos.  The route will be partly paved and tailored to the group's abilities and the temperature and is a great way to see the local area at the beginning of your holiday - On this we will see some of the Roman ruins, the castle, old town and a few of the lovely monuments and statues by Miguel Moreno..  Rucksacks for swimming gear provided, as well as snorkels and masks if we stop for a swim.  Snack pack included.
- OR -
Mountain Biking Experienced riders can take our great self guided Ridge Route with off road  options between 9 and 15km, or a return all downhill via tarmac.  Stunning views over the white villages and the bright blue sea, from a high point of some 600m altitude.  All route notes & maps needed supplied as well as picnic lunch, though NB a min no of 2px required.

Coastal Paths Walk  A great self guided coastal walk with a picnic lunch to enjoy en route, following the Moorish Atalayas (watchtowers) along the coast & cliff paths to the neighbouring town of Salobreña with its Arabic hill top castle.  Time to sightsee in Salobreña and explore the castle and old town with its gleaming white houses clinging to the hill below - or stroll over to the beach and enjoy tapas or freshly barbequed fish at a beach bar by the sea.  Return transport, picnic lunch as well as Salobreña guide notes & maps all inc.
- OR -
Simply pick Free Riding - Mountain Biking or Cycling and take a spin along the paseo and explore along the coast line, perhaps visiting the Sunday market - or perhaps take a shorter ride to find a Roman Bridge and some great viewpoints.  We supply all the route notes you need for a great day along with a rucksack for your swimming kit & beach towels!

 

Monday - Take your pick from:
Local Area Walk - Explore the western paseos and sea cliffs before crossing over into neighbouring La Herradura.  This is an old fisherman's path (camino de los pescadores) with superb views along the coast and towards the marina on the way.  We supply full illustrated route notes, rucksacks and a light picnic lunch

Horse riding - After a short (approx 30 mins) transfer to the stables you will be introduced to your mount, before setting off on a guided 2 hour ride on well trained but forward going Andalucian horses.  Longer, or additional rides may be available by arrangement for experienced riders - contact us for details.

In Spring (Apr - May) weather permitting we start to add in some water sports and also offer Watersports -Sea Kayak Safari - Choose from: Escorted Sea Kayak Safari in double or single seat sea kayaks around the sea cliffs and caves (swell & sea conditions permitting).  Stop at adjoining beaches & coves for a swim & snorkel (free hire of masks & snorkels).

Windsurfing Enjoy a couple of hours windsurfing.  A great choice of windsurfing boards & rigs suitable from complete beginners to experts.  All equipment supplied.  Windsurfing instruction / courses can be arranged on arrival if rqd, as well as dinghy or catamaran sailing.
- OR -
Try your hand at stand up Paddle Boarding.  We have a choice of boards to suit most weights as well as adjustable length paddles for most heights.

 

Tuesday- Choose from:
Ski season (approx 1st Dec - 30th April):  Skiing / Snow Boarding (supplement applies).  We leave Almunecar around 07:45 and head up to Sierra Nevada for a great day's skiing and snow boarding.  Non skiers welcome, as this is also a great chance to visit the most southerly ski resort in Europe, and on a clear day you can see the Riff mountains in Africa.  Min no 2px required for this activity to run.  Lift pass, standard ski / board / ski blades / big feet, boots & ski pants hire included.

Outside Ski Season (Oct, Nov, May) or in the event of inclement weather during the ski season we head up to lower mountains to enjoy a hike in the beautiful Sierra Almijara natural park!  We drive in a/c 4WD up through the valley inland into the Natural Park, enjoying the fantastic scenery, to our drop off at an altitude of 1200m above sea level.  We then hike down the forest tracks through the park to the white village of Lentegi for refreshemnts, then down further tracks to Otivar where we finish up with lunch in a hill side restaurant, before. Rucksacks, water and restaurant lunch inc.

Local Area Walk - Discover Torre Diablo and Roman Bridge on foot using our fully illustrated local walking route notes.  Explore the bays and coves to the east of the town and visit Torre de Diablos (the Devils Tower) with it's panoramic views over the bay.  The route loops around the area as a "figure of eight" with 5km and 9km legs, so can easily be stopped and started at different points to allow time for lunch, snorkeling and swimming, etc.  We supply full illustrated route notes, rucksacks, snorkels & masks, as well as a light picnic lunch so all you need is your camera and swimming gear for a great day exploring the chiringuitos with their "Bar-B-Boats" along the sea side paseos

 

Wednesday - Free time to maybe try one of our optional activities.  In Oct and  Mar to May: PADI Discover Scuba Diving Trial Dives are extremely popular.  No previous experience required as all instruction is given to you for a first class introduction to this brilliant sport.  If the bug bites we can organise a full four day course in which you will gain the world recognised PADI Open Water Diver qualification, allowing you to dive with a buddy independent of an instructor.  Visit the amazing Alhambra Palace in Granada, relax in a spa, or just chill out by the glittering blue sea.  Diving is always available in the marine nature reserve,  Moto Cross / off road trail riding is available, while yacht charters are great fun.  Perhaps do some sightseeing, mountain biking or take a local self-guided walk, or try any of our other optional activities...  the choice is yours - just let us know and we will get it Totally Sorted for you!

 

Thursday  -  Choose from:

Evening - Join us on our fun filled Tapas Trail, where €15 "in the kitty" takes around the old town with its tapas bars and restaurants.  A great way to get to know the old part of  town, with its cobbled streets lined with small shops as well as the local tapas & specialities.


Friday
- Choose from:

Caves visit and Frigiliana.  A half day excursion to see the worlds largest underground column in the spectacular Nerja caves complex.  We will also see where the famous underground ballets are held each year in Spring.  Amazing underground formations in a truly spectacular setting.  We then visit the Pueblo Blanco (White Village) of Frigiliana with its maze of cobbled streets and white cottages dating back to Moorish times.  A real "picture postcard" village, with enchanting tapas bars, craft shops and stunning views from the terraces and hill top behind the town.  We will also get a chance to sample the wines made from the local muscatel grapes.  Don't forget the camera!

4x4 Off Road Buggy Safari - An exciting 3 hr safari in the Axarquia region takes you high into the sierras and the natural park on either the 4x4 Buggies or Quad Bikes.  You will get full instruction on how to safely handle your choice, before setting off to explore off road along the river beds and trails.  UK (or equiv) licence rqd to drive + min age restriction for drivers.
- OR -

While the activities, dates & timings for all our activities are given in good faith, they are subject to change for both operational, safety and weather reasons as certain activities (esp. water sports & skiing) are highly weather dependent.  We cannot therefore guarantee that any one activity will always be on any one particular day, but will always endeavour with regard to the conditions at that time to re-schedule in order to safely accommodate everything as best we can - If this is not possible an alternative will be offered.  Also, please note (especially in off peak season) that provision of some activities are subject to minimum numbers.

Non Active Partner or Friends?

Simply book "No Activities" for each person not requiring activities. They can then add in any of our optional activities, so if they fancy a Spa session, an excursion to the Alhambra palace in Granada or decide to have a go at something different its all there to choose from. 

 And don't forget our extensive riding facilities are available as well for all clients.
